I just want to say hi to all and introduce myself. My name is Byron Jamison, father of 3, and this my introduction to the word of blogging. While I am new to the world of blogging I however am not new to the internet or to posting online. My first intro to the internet was through Web TV and I believe that may have been a Microsoft console. I connected you thru the phone line and hooked to the back of your tv. I was the envy of all of my friends because up until that point we were only exposed to the internet on a regular basis at school or at the public library.
Later I was the first of my and family to take advantage of high speed internet when it came available in my area. My first introduction to blogging was throught a site called Hubpages. I was looking for ways to make money online and I stumbled upon this great place to start blogging (Hubpages calls their version of blogs “hubs”). I liked it because it was free to sign up and you could basically blog about whatever you wanted and the community extremely good in my opinion about supporting each other and so every hub(blog) that I wrote I would get a minimum of 10-20 readers the first day because all new hubs are featured. The other good thing was that the site is optimized for Google so when you search for the topic you write about chances are you will rank higher than most blogging sites for the topic you wrote about, and several of my hubs were #1 on Google for that topic. This came in handy because in order to make money blogging, which is what I narrowed my online money making decision to, you need to rank very high on the search engines in order to make the most money. So I found out about Google Adsense which is a program through Google where they place ads on you pages and you get a percentage of the revenue advertisers pay for the ads everytime someone views one of the ads on you pages. Hubpages has Adsense already optimized on the site so once your Adsense account is approved then you just enter the code you are given and ads will start to appear on you hubs. A few of my hubs were so popular that after a few months I had earned almost $100 just from Hubpages. That success even though minimal brought me to “A Man And A Blog.” In order to make real money with your content is to own your own blog and not have to share the revenue you make. Although Hubpages is great I would have made about 2 or 3x more if I didn’t have to share the revenue. But who’s complaining because I made a success off of something that I never even considered benefiting financially from in the beginning and the kicker is that it costs me ZERO! Just sharing my knowledge and helping others and viola. I will post later on many topics including how I used Hubpages to earn my first $100 online. Stay tuned and come back frequently and also subscribe to my RSS feeds to be notified of many opportunities that come available to me that I will share with you. You can sign up with Hubpages here to begin earning money for your blog writings as well. Thanks.
